Family and Individual Profiles
There are many descendants of James Mosher and Lydia Allen and in the first 3 generations many married other cousins which was very common. This resulted in many descendants having more than one child of James and Lydia as an ancestor. These profiles may help those who get lost in the maze as many ancestors had similar family names. Many also remarried and moved from Canada to the United States and beyond. If you would like to submit a story for inclusion on either the Canadian Descendant Stories (those that were born and remained in Nova Scotia) or Nova Scotia to U.S.A. ones where the family line relocated, please email contact@mosherinformation.com.
That also includes additional information or photos to what is already there.
Examples of these stories are located in the tabs at the top of the page.
Can you help with this mystery about Ship Model "The Alberta"?
A request for information asking for possible information of a model of a ship called The Alberta that has been in a family that has no link to the Mosher family, or does it? The model pictured is in a state of disrepair but someone may know a bit more. The model was made by Johannes Marinus Van Rooy or Harry Van Rooy. The ship itself has been possibly identified as a Tern Schooner built in 1888 by Thomas Mosher in Avondale. It was wrecked near Cuba in 1902.
The model would have had a glass dome which is missing. Avon River Heritage Museum in Avondale has been contacted and The National Maritime Museum in Cornwell, England.
